MS, Asthma and IBD

Question:

Diet is a very significant part of treatment. The best dietary treatment program for an orgamism is the proper amount of nutrients as a daily regimen. This country consumes way too much sugar and caffiene. Too many fatty foods (with the incorrect type of fat). Then there are individual tolerances to identify. Personally i have developed intolerances to the Gluten molecule (Wheat fiber), Beans (primarily fiber), and Saturated Fats. I also think that these intolerances over time have reduced the efficiency of my Pancreas (needed for digestive enzymes) as I now consume 3-5 teaspoons of lemon juice a day to keep the important link digestion moving. Thats after 39 years of damage. It took awhile (3 or four years) to identify these intloerances and avoid them. Alcohol, Nicotime and Other Environmental toxins (Exhaust, Pollen, Dust, Mold, Paint Fumes, Tar Smoke from the tire fire) must be avoided as much as possible. I’ve leaarned that for me this diet is composed of 3/4 plants and 1/4 animal on a daily basis. Sometimes I allow my self 2/3 plants and 1/3 anmal to keep life enjoyable.. I believed  that by trying to avoid sugars, fats and  salts I would probably get enough nourishment from the foods I ate. I am currently researching the weblink Salt factor. The Significant reduction of sugar and fat has helped me (improve?) quite alot. They say the Onion and the Garlic are keys to good health. Fresh onion 3 times a week. Clove of garlic a day. "Give us this day our daily bread", not breadS. Only 1 bread a day helps quite alot. Good luck in identifying intolerances. l8r…….Unexpected http://community.webtv.net/Hotmoth/MSReflections http://community.webtv.net/Hotmoth/andsoturnstheworld http://community.webtv.net/Hotmoth/PerpetualResume

Carmel, The theory behind the diet is that when foods are difficult to digest, they provide plenty of "food" for bacteria, yeast, and microbes in the gut (intestines) to feed on, thereby overpopulating and causing disease. In order to protect itself, the cells in the intestine produce mucous as a barrier between the microbes and the intestinal wall to prevent sores and irritation. The result is that the cells can no longer absorb the nutrients from the food that has been digested because they have a veritable "wall" of protection from the bad stuff. Therefore, the Record diet prescribes consuming only monosaccharides and not di- or poly-  (I’m going from memory here, so please excuse any mistakes) saccharides.  You MUST follow the diet to the letter. There is no such thing as "cheating" and going back to where you were before the cheat.  You are back to square one.  Therefore, you must pay particular attention to every bite of food you consume.  It is pretty varied.  Basically the only things that are unacceptable are starches, grains, and sugars other than honey, saccharin, and ulysses nardin swiss replicas fruit (but even fruit has some stipulations concerning juices, etc…) The author does an incredible job of outlining the acceptable and unacceptable foods.  She also gives a sample meal plan and plenty of recipes.  The testimonies I have read on the website basically say that a person’s weight stabilizes at a healthy point whether that means gaining or losing to get there. Basically, you have to stay on the diet very strictly for about 2 years.  Then, if you have been symptom free, you can begin adding in small amounts of certain foods one at a time (like when you introduce foods to an infant).  If something causes a reaction, then you go back to the diet strictly again. It includes unprocessed meats, certain cheeses and nuts, honey, homemade yogurt (gives explicit instructions on how to make it), fruits, veggies, desserts. It seems to be very well thought out and so many people have had such excellent results that they have committed to the diet for life.  I, personally, cannot imagine being symptom-free…but I am willing to believe in the possibility. Wow!  Knowing that I could get up and wear the same size clothes every day instead of gauging the bloated/distended factor hour by hour. If you actually heal your intestines enough to panerai luminor chrono daylight replica absorb nutrients from your food, then some amount of health and vitality must be restored.  I look forward to seeing for myself how it works.  Here’s the website address.  Good luck to you! http://www.scd.com/ Kelly CPD <car…@cyberwizards.com.au

Ti If sugar or caffeine are poison to our bodies then reducing their intake will reduce the amount of poison our bodies must cope with. Would total elimination, rather than reduction, not be a better strategy? If we take wheat grown in devitalised soil add the residues of herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, etc. and then process out more than 20 known nutrients, add lots of refined processed sugar and then bake this ‘fortified’ poison into a bread then what’s good about it?
