Question:
CBI ,Ellis what do you think: http://www.asap-care.com/asthma.htm I found this an interesting paper, the author says ‘My suspicion is that actual asthma prevalence has not really increased as much as is believed, but the number of people with asthma mimicking symptoms has resulted in an increased diagnosis of asthma’. Later he expresses his concern that many people are taking prescribed asthma drugs on a daily basis, despite the fact that they are not having any asthma attacks or respiratory symptoms. Also that bronchodilators can themselves can make things worse – for example in patients with ‘cough variant’ and ‘chest pain variant’ asthma. Janet
