Question:

Hello and Happy New Year! I am searching for information on IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) treatments for a friend of mine who is diarrhoea/pain dominant.  She has seen numerous physicians (internal medicine specialists, gastroenterologists, and a shrink), has endured numerous tests and blood panels, has tried a lot of drug treatments (anti-spasmodics, anti-depressants, etc.), has tried different diets (high fiber, low fat, complex carb, etc.), and has been diagnosed as being free from colitis/Crohn’s/ cancer/parasitic infestations. She continues to have problems and has resorted to some alternative therapies (some herbal, accupunture, meditation, etc.). Nothing seems to really help. Is there an FAQ out there in cyber-land that addresses this or an FTP site with some information? If so, please post here or send email to me. I have a vested interest in this too as I have the same problem (although not so bad that it keeps me from going to work or hacking on the net). Thanks very much, Barry

I presume she has had complete allergy testing?  (food allergies in particular)
