Need Info:Jewish Inst.,Denver
Question:
Hi, I am trying to get some info about the Jewish Institute of Respiratory and Immunological Diseases, Denver CO. My friend has been a chronic asthma sufferer and now is regularly on steroids. She is hopeful about some info she had gotten about the above mentioned institute. She would like to have the answers to the following questions answered: 1. To what extent can treatment at the above institute help her ? 2. Will it help her get off steroids like Predisone & Medrol that she currently takes ? I would deeply appreciate if you or anyone you know can provide some info about the institute. If the above specific questions are answered that would be particularly helpful. to this thread ( the former would be preferable of course). Depending on the response I get, I will post a summary to this newsgroup. Thanks Srinivas http://homepage.seas.upenn.edu/~sripada/son.html
Response:
The institute in denver does a lot of good for a lot of people. How much change a given patient will see depends on what has been tried for care so far and how things have worked, how much the person knows about the disease, and so on. If your friend is having trouble, this is a good place to go to try to find a solution. there are however other schools of thought about asthma management than this one institution. Hope this helps Buzz
Response:
Buzz writes, "there are other schools of thought about asthma management" Would you please continue with your information here. I’ve had asthma for years and sometimes it responds well to medications and sometimes not. It’s been getting harder to breathe and after tests recently I started medication for low thyroid – too. I do work with physicans and am wanting to learn from others experiences also. Thanks for any suggestions. Dee
