air purifier
Question:
My GF suffers from astma (she says its wet asthma if that helps).. not real badly, but it seems to be getting worse, she only needs to use one of those inhaler thingys when she’s real bad, (she’s on the blue one.. sorry, i really don’t know much about asthma.. i can apreciate what i must feel like, i reacted badly to the gasses i was given during an operation, and ended up with fluid in my lungs, had to be on a C-Pap machine for a week, it’s not a nice feeling wanting to breathe, but not being able to, i know that much), Anyway, she lives with her parents, and the house is still being built.. it’s an old house, but has new bits added onto it, her bedroom is downstairs, and in the old part of the house, (and gets cold due to the old windows that leak air), she’s for ever cleaning dust from under her bed, every now and again her dad will do some dusty work inside the house, and she deffo gets worse then, it seems to be dust that affects her the most, but she lives near a city, so traffic fumes could also cause her probs, (she didn’t use her inhaler once on the 2 week holiday in the black forrest and swiss mountians earlier this year), as it seems to be dust related, she uses these special dust mite proof bedding covers, she keeps the door closed most of the time, but lots of dust still gets in, as i keep finding it under the bed, (its empty under there as she knows about boxes being magnets for dust), And just lately shes been telling me about her breathings getting worse in her room, So i wanted to get her a hepa filter for her room, i’ve seen the ammount of dust these things can collect, and can imagine it will work wonders in her case.. but i’d like some advise, reading an old post, someone mentioned some air purifiers were bad.. producing ozone, and basicaly being disguised ionizers, i’ve been looking at the: Bionaire BAP1560 listed as a VLPA (i thought that was supposed to be Ulpa?), air purifier, with a built in ionizer, 2 stage ultra hepa filtration, and removes 99.999% of dust and allergens, pollen etc, (oh and it says its whisper quiet too.. needed for a bedroom), Is this thing one of the units to avoid?, or is it a decent unit, i don’t have mega money to spend, found it for
