need help abdominal and bowel pain
Question:
A friend of mine Female 26 years old as been ill for the past three years and can find no relief. Any one any suggestions. The infromation I have gleaned from her Symptons Unable to digest food in any form (liquid,mashed,special diet food) of liquids. Food undigested even after twelve hours of consuming vomit after everything consumed. Abdominal and bowel pain, mouth ulcers accute constipation , sore eyes.Joint pain, weight loss (4stone todate) Tiredness. Treatment So Far Anti sickness tablets/injections x=rays, Stomach pressure test ,Acid level test, Bowel x-ray.Small bowel x-ray (Bareium meal follow through) enoscopy.blood test, horome test. Removal of gallstone and gallbladder. Can anyone help her Thanks

Boy, I couldn’t believe how much your friends symtoms sound like that of Chrohns disease.. She should see a good GI Dr and right away. I know because I have Crohns and those are the exact symtoms that you desribed. Please if I can be of any help to your friend, please e-mail me. Take care, Carol

Sorry your friend suffers with all this! One possibility to consider is Crohn’s Disease. Though usually found in the gut, it can appear anywhere in the digestive tract from the lips and mouth down. If active in the stomach, it might cause some of the digestive problems you list. Fierce abdominal and bowel pain, joint pain and mouth ulcers are somewhat common complications of Crohn’s. Crohn’s is difficult to diagnose. A colonoscopy with biopsies sent to the lab can confirm (but not eliminate) Crohn’s. If it is diagnosed, there are medical treatments which reduce the pain and keep symptoms in check for significant amounts of time for many patients. Suggest that she ask her gastroenterologist if Crohn’s disease has been eliminated in her differential diagnosis.
