My doctor said I made my own steroids when I was pregnant and that is why I felt so good. I’m looking to get pregnant agiain this year and hope to go into remisssion again. Hope all goes well and enjoy your baby. My daughter us jumping all over me, so this message is messy

Hi Jennifer, I have a 5 yr old son and 1.5 yr old twins. I have Chrohns/Colitis and have had two surgeries and go in for a third next week. It has been a battle and a huga source of guilt and disappointment when my illness has made it hard for me to care for my children. These surgeries will hopefully bring me to a more competent place physically as I long to have more energy for my littles. I can totally empathize withyou and would chat as well. Dori

Congrats on the *new* pregnancy!!! When are you do? Rebecca
Thanks – in July. It’s amazing how different it is to be pregnant when you are in remission, even though my UC wasn’t that bad at the time. I just hope I don’t pay for it with a doozie of a flareup postpartum!!! Anyone out there with a new baby and also fighting crohns or colitis. Need someone to talk to? My baby is 4 months old and my crohns/colitis is very active, trying to find new meds to take, still on prednisone. Just looking for someone with this in common to chat with. Jennifer

Hi, Jen My sister has a five month old little girl. Her crohn’s flared up when she was pregnant. She’s taking tincture of opium for the diarrhea which is her major complain right now. Hope you get healthy enough to enjoy your little one. Cynthia

My baby isn’t new anymore (he just turned 3 – where does the time go?), but I also had a nasty flareup shortly after he was born. Prednisone did eventually lick it for me, but it took a while. Silver lining – I had gained 40 pounds with that pregnancy, and I lost them all. I also managed to keep breastfeeding throughout, that helped support me through it, I think. After that bad bout I went into remission for an unknown reason, and I’ve been there ever since (tfu tfu tfu). I’m now pregnant again, and still in remission (double tfu tfu tfu). Feel free to drop a note any time.
